Ibrahim Ati Allah gave Wehen Wiesbaden the lead in the tenth minute, driving a low shot into the bottom corner after Moritz Flotho pounced on a loose defensive pass.
Sixteen-year-old goalkeeper David Podar-Stiube was kept busy throughout the opening period as Vincent Kompany’s teenage lineup struggled to find rhythm against seasoned opposition.
Kompany made sweeping changes at the interval, introducing several senior figures including João Palhinha, Sacha Boey, Arijon Ibrahimović, Sven Ulreich, and Tom Bischof.
