F O U R F O R Y O U - Gameweek 29

Each week I will be picking a player from each position that I think is the best play and the best value (points per million) that week in their position. It will be based on the FanTeam pricing (FPL pricing will also be provided). Only one player per club will be picked each week, to hopefully encourage some more differential player picks. The aim each week is to hit double figures with each player and one point per million with each player. Please feel free to leave any feedback in the comments, all feedback is greatly appreciated.

Here are the results for last weeks picks(based on FanTeam pricing), for a pick to be correct it needs to hit on both double figures (DF) and points per million (PM):

Goalkeeper - Jose Sa (Wolves)

DF – 10 points ✅

PPM – 2 points ✅

Defender – Reece James (Chelsea)

DF – 15.3 points ✅

PPM – 2.6 points ✅

Midfielder - Raphinha (Leeds)

DF – 4.8 points ❌

PPM – 0.6 points ❌

Forward – Harry Kane (Spurs)

DF – 11.3 points ✅

PPM – 0.9 points ❌

Weekly: 2-2

Overall : 2-2

“Not a bad first week, got 2 out 4 spot on, couldn’t have been much closer with Harry Kane, a shot on target would have done the job. Nonetheless a solid start and onto week two (GW 29).”

Goalkeeper - Aaron Ramsdale

FanTeam - 5.3M

FPL - £5.1M

Ramsdale has been superb this season ever since taking over as the Arsenal number one, he is averaging just over three saves a game on FanTeam and he faces a Leicester side who he has already kept out this season. Leicester‘s away form hasn’t been overly impressive and Arsenal have been strong at home, so a clean sheet is definitely attainable for Ramsdale. It’s a double gameweek for Arsenal, however game two is a visit from Liverpool, a clean sheet will be difficult in this game but I fully expect Ramsdale to stack up plenty more save points and add to his 68 saves he already has on FanTeam. Ramsdale has been a popular choice this season and I expect him to return some decent points at his 5.3M FanTeam price, should be a good value in the double gamewek.

Defender – Tino Livramento (Southampton)

FanTeam – 5.0M

FPL - £4.4M

What a signing Livramento has been for Southampton sinice signing, he really did hit the ground running in the first half of the season, after a short injury lay off in the middle part of the season he is now back in the Southampton side. Watford are struggling big time this season sitting in 19th place in the league, so Southampton will fancy their chances not only to win but also to keep a clean sheet. Livramento offers attacking potential in addition to a clean sheet, Southampton beat Watford 1-0 at Vicarage Road, so history could most definitely repeat itself this weekend. At 5.0M on FanTeam Livramento should be great value if he can get you a return at either end of the pitch, if he can get you returns at both ends then it’s money well spent for sure.

Midfielder - Luis Diaz (Liverpool)

FanTeam - 5.6M

FPL - £8.0M

I thought about picking Mo Salah here but that’s too easy, so sticking with Liverpool I went with the new exciting signing Luis Diaz. Diaz has started really well for Liverpool and looks an incredible addition to an already dangerous front line. He hasn’t contributed much in terms of fantasy points at the moment, but Liverpool play away at Brighton and Arsenal in gameweek 29 so he should at least see the field for 90 minutes at the bare minimum probably more. Brighton and Arsenal aren’t the worst teams defensively but Liverpool are a team capable of opening up any defence, scoring 13 in their last five premier league games, winning all five games beating Leeds 6-0 in the process. Diaz looks full of confidence and will be desperate to get involved in the goals and assists alongside his teammates, and with the double gameweek he is in prime position to hit a decent score. What a bargain this could be at 5.6M on FanTeam, you won’t need a great deal for this to be worth the low price tag and with two games, that is well within sight.

Forward – Dominic Calvert Lewin (Everton)

FanTeam – 7.8M

FPL - £7.7M

A risky pick, but one I think that could definitely pay off in gameweek 29 and there are a few reasons why. Firstly Everton need results and they need them now, so they have to start scoring goals and winning games, secondly Calvert Lewin has been linked with lots of clubs in recent times, so he will be desperate to show potential suitors what he can do. Lastly the fixtures for Everton to finish the season do not look particularly favourable, therefore home games against Wolves and Newcastle in the next gameweek will be games the Toffees and Calvert Lewin will be targeting as winnable games or even games they can get draws out of. It is a massive risk, but 7.8M isn’t a terrible price for a double gameweek forward who needs to score goals for himself and for his team, could be great value, could be a waste of money, but a risk worth taking in my opinion.

“A few routes I can go down with my personal team, team one(left) brings Livramento and DCL in for a -4, team two(middle) acquires Diaz and Livramento also for a -4, lastly all four players in for team three(right) for a big -12 points hit.”

Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoyed F O U R F O R Y O U gameweek 29, any comments or suggestions please let me know in the comments.
