F O U R F O R Y O U - Gameweek 37
Each week I will be picking a player from each position that I think is the best play and the best value (points per million) that week in their position. It will be based on the FanTeam pricing (FPL pricing will also be provided). Only one player per club will be picked each week, to hopefully encourage some more differential player picks. The aim each week is to hit double figures with each player and one point per million with each player. Please feel free to leave any feedback in the comments, all feedback is greatly appreciated.
Here are the results for last weeks picks(based on FanTeam pricing), for a pick to be correct it needs to hit on both double figures (DF) and points per million (PM):
Goalkeeper – Ederson (Manchester City)
DF – 11.10 points ✅
PPM – 1.76 points ✅
Defender – Antonio Rüdiger (Chelsea)
DF – 7.30 points ❌
PPM – 1.30 points ✅
Midfielder – James Maddison (Leicester City)
DF – 10.10 points ✅
PPM – 1.44 points ✅
Forward – Richarlison (Everton)
DF – 9.70 points ❌
PPM – 1.40 points ✅
Overall : 5-31
“Would you believe it, we hit on two selections and got really close on the other two. Ederson and Maddison brought home the points this week, impressive from Maddison considering he only ended up playing one game of his double gameweek. Rüdiger was only a few points away from bringing home a double point haul and Richarlison was a shot on target or even an Everton win against Watford away from making it three out of four in gameweek 36. Onto the penultimate gameweek of the season, gameweek 37. ”
Goalkeeper – Jordan Pickford
FanTeam – 5.0M
FPL - £4.8M
Jordan Pickford has a double gameweek this week and it is arguably the most decisive gameweek in Everton’s Premier League history. Home games against Brentford and Crystal Palace are on the menu for Pickford and Everton in gameweek 37. Despite scoring three last week, Brentford failed to score in their two previous games and Palace have failed to score in three of their last five games including the FA Cup semi final against Chelsea. Pickford has kept a clean sheet either side of conceding just the one goal against Leicester City, so two clean sheets in his last three games going into gameweek 37 isn’t a bad position to be in. Pickford is only 5.0M on FanTeam and he averages over 3 saves a game on FanTeam so with two home games he’s got to be worth a start in your fantasy team in this huge gameweek for Everton Football Club.
Defender – Lucas Digne (Aston Villa)
FanTeam – 5.2M
FPL – £5.0M
Lucas Digne was expected to miss some time through injury but he has returned sooner than expected, playing a full 90 in his last three matches for Aston Villa. He hasn’t quite lived up to the high standards he has set since joining the Premier League this season, but he has of course switched teams halfway through the season, however he is still a huge threat going forward for Aston Villa. He plays twice this gameweek, both games at home, against Crystal Palace and Burnley, clean sheets are not out of the question in either game. Digne offers fantasy points at both ends of the pitch, so a double gameweek against a team ‘on the beach’ and a ‘relegation candidate’ seem like the perfect pair. He’s only 5.2M on FanTeam which feels like an absolute bargain, will he make your gameweek 37 team?
Midfielder – Heung-Min Son
FanTeam – 10.6M
FPL - £11.0M
Is there another player who goes under the radar as much as Heung-Min Son? He is only one goal off Mo Salah in the race for the golden boot this season, yet he gets nowhere the same hype that Salah gets. Son has 21 goals and 10 assists this season which makes him the second highest scoring player on FanTeam, behind Salah of course. Son has hit double figures four times since gameweek 30, which is incredible form, so he probably should have been a ‘Four Four You’ pick long before the penultimate weekend of the season. Son is one goal away from Salah as mentioned before in the race for the golden boot and Spurs have to win against Burnley on Sunday, so we should see Son on top form once again at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. For 10.6M on FanTeam you can grab the second highest scoring FanTeam player, seems a no brainer to me at that price in midfield.
Forward – Jamie Vardy (Leicester City)
FanTeam – 9.5M
FPL - £10.3M
Jamie Vardy played his first 90 minutes last gameweek in the Premier League since gameweek 20. Granted he was only playing against an already relegated Norwich, but two goals and a couple of shots on target, bagged him a lovely 12.10 points. He now faces Watford away in gameweek 37, Watford are the worst home team in the league and they have conceded the most goals in the league at home, so it could be a perfect match for Jamie Vardy. Vardy and Leicester also face Chelsea in gameweek 37, who will be coming off the back of the FA Cup final and haven’t been the best at Stamford Bridge this season, so a chance for Vardy to add to his total from the game against the Hornets. At 9.5M on FanTeam Vardy is one of the more pricier forwards, but he could be worth it in my opinion, will he make your gameweek 37 fantasy team?
